Payroll services in state and government sector

After winning the contract, PS had the opportunity to provide payroll and cafeteria administration services for a client in the governmental sector. The transition period was challenging, as less than 2 months were left to take the client over from the previous service provider and to set-up the new payroll system and cafeteria processes. In addition to the tight schedule, the payroll software formerly used was a different one.

Description

We prepared a detailed schedule for both client and PS tasks and deadlines. The first step was to implement a test system, where the configuration could take place, and where we could test the newly developed features. In order for the testing phase to be as accurate as possible, we input real data into the test system.

Main steps of the start-up

  • uploading master data and setting-up the payroll software
  • developing the input interface (for master data)
  • developing the output interface (payroll calculation and GL posting to HR)
  • designing other reports
  • setting up the communication channels

PS managed to perform the first live payroll calculation on time, the employees received their salary by the due date, the necessary reports and the developed interfaces were delivered to the client, and the tax returns were duly filed.
